Who is responsible

What we store

• Your profile, if you wear a Mottie: the details you give us (name, headline, photo, links, and the email and phone you choose to include in “Save contact”).
• Your sign-in email: private, used only to send you one-time codes and links to your panel. It is never shown on your profile.
• Contact messages and sample requests: your name, organisation, email and message, used only to reply to you. We delete them once they are no longer needed.
• Answers to /feedback: anonymous answers to three questions about the design.
• Scans: how many times each piece is tapped per day and per hour, and the time of the last tap. Only the wearer sees the hours, and they are deleted after 90 days (only the daily total stays). We do not store the IP address, the device or who scanned.
• Face ID or fingerprint (passkeys): if you turn them on, we store only a public key that cannot identify you; your face and fingerprint never leave your phone.
• Modes and emails: the active mode of each piece (Work, Event…), the event name if you write one, and how often you get scan emails.
• Lost-piece messages: if someone finds your piece and writes to you, we forward the message to your email; we do not keep it.
• Your feedback from the panel or the email: the message or the 👍 / 👎 you send, linked to your account, to improve Mottie.
• “Recently tapped”: when you open a profile, your phone keeps a copy for 24 hours at /recent. That copy stays on your phone; we never receive it.
• Technical server logs: our hosting provider keeps website access logs (including IP addresses) for a limited time for security. We do not use them for anything else.

Why

To show your profile when someone taps your piece with their phone, and to email you about your profile. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who else sees it

Your profile is seen by whoever scans your piece. If your school or company bought the pieces, it only sees anonymous totals (for example, how many pieces are active), never your links or who scans you. Data is hosted by Raiola Networks (Spain, EU). Emails are sent on our behalf by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France, EU); for each email we only keep the recipient's domain and whether it arrived, for 90 days. We never sell or share data.

How long

For as long as your profile is active. If you ask us to delete it, we erase it together with your photo. Profile requests that are not approved are deleted.

Cookies

Mottie's public pages use no cookies and no tracking tools. Fonts are served from our own domain. If you sign in to your panel, we use one technical cookie to keep you signed in. If you choose a language, a cookie remembers it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or take away your data, or object to its use, by writing to hello@wearmottie.com. If you think we got it wrong, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
